Tuesday Trigger

I am entering this card in the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger.    Their photo was a dining room with a black and white leafy rug and yellow cushioned chairs.  I immediately thought of my Impressabilities Flourish  to ink the background.  I then used the yellow from the chairs for the flowers (Hero Arts & Craft Lounge stamps).  The yellow card stock is from Memory Box.
I am pleased with the results.  Although it's for an anniversary I didn't want to add a sentiment to the front so still have the inside to finish:)

Stepping stones

These stones were made for retiring staff members.

This one was for a colleague who taught Gr. 1 for many years.  She was VERY into teaching her students about nature.  Every winter she took her class up to feed the mountain goats on the Salmo-Creston.  The students were enthralled by the size and beauty of them.  This stone was to remind her of one of the 'great adventures'.

These two were for colleagues who enjoyed gardening.  I know my photography could use some help, but I hope you enjoy these creations.  I am excited to take another course at the end of August on actual 'stained glass'.  My cutting skills will have to be honed, but I am looking forward to it:)

Anniversaries

This card  is for my cousins 50th today!!   I used white card stock for the base, and dabbed Memento Desert Sand over Spellbinders Flourish Impressabilties for the background.  Because it's their 50th (gold), I  tore a page from DCWV Natural pad for the roses, rather than heat embossing stamped images.  The butterflies are cut using SU butterfly die.  I heat embossed the sentiment using SUchocolate and SUclear embossing powder.  The embellies are from my stash:)
This was for my in-laws 61st anniversary!  Isn't that wild--60+years:)  They are such a cute couple and still so much in love with each other, the heart just had to be there.  I used beige cardstock for the card base, three coordinating papers from Basic Grey's Cappella pad.  I heat embossed the heart (from my stash) and the sentiment with SUgold embossing powder.  The pearls are again 'from my stash'.

Even though I consider them CAS, I think they look very 'classy'.   I found two great verses on the web that I glued inside each one with added embellies but forgot to take a photo.

Embossing Mania

When I get the hang of something, I really go for it!!  I had fun making these cards using versamark, ZingWhite embossing powder, SU Sizzix butterfly die and hardware.  Papers and ribbons are mostly from TE.
Friends card used Hero Arts 'Earth Flower' stamp set.
Rest of the stamps are mostly from the $1 bin at Michael's, some wood, some acrylic.
What can I say...I'm cheap:)

June Wedding

When I saw this digi stamp from PaperCraft Inspirations I just had to use it for a wedding we're attending this month.  This particular pose didn't have the love at the bottom so I cut and pasted it in.  I CB the background with dots and hand-cut the oval frame (not perfect but I'm learning).  I added a bit of colour to the flowers with a Marvy LePlumeII #5yellow marker.  Made little flowers and added bling to her bouquet using a $store tiny flower punch and jewels embellies from TE.  I love 'Stampin Up's' ticket punch and added yellow 'dots' in the corners from my stash.  I love the finished effect!

Just a sampling

I entered this card in a GinaK. sketch challenge way back in Dec. 2010.  Didn't win, but my son sure loved it.

Just had to have this Craft Lounge set of fishing stamps.  I embossed the boat in black and then sponged in the background. Think I'll try sponging first and then embossing next time.

Followed a colour challenge for this birthday card.  Had this assortment of black and white 8X8 papers sitting around from a monthly kit from Taylored Expressions.  I just love black and yellow together:)

This masculine card was for my Father-In-Law's birthday last year.  Again, copied a sketch.  Also tried GinaKs Argyle Technique.  It didn't quite turn out the way her's did but I was happy with results anyways.  I have used this "3s" sketch over and over.  It is SO easy:)

Stepping stones

This stepping stone was created for my son. He loves to fish.
I love how the ridged glass for the fins makes them look realistic.
